The White Rose was founded in 1942 by several students at the University of Munich, including Sophie Scholl and her brother Hans.
The members were united against Nazi policies and began writing and distributing leaflets calling on the German people to take action to stop injustice and genocide. In 1943, Hans and Sophie Scholl were arrested by the Gestapo after they distributed leaflets to students at their university. Hans Scholl, Sophie Scholl, and Christoph Probst, another member of the group, were executed on February 22, 1943

Resistance is a choice.
Stay involved.
Fight.
“Nothing is more shameful to a civilized nation than to allow itself to be “governed” by an irresponsible clique of sovereigns who have given themselves over to dark urges – and that without resisting. Isn’t it true that every honest German is ashamed of his government these days? Who among us can imagine the degree of shame that will come upon us and upon our children when the veil falls from our faces and the awful crimes that infinitely exceed any human measure are exposed to the light of day?”
White Rose, Leaflet One 1942
I was introduced to Sophie Scholl when I was in 6th grade, a friend recommended her as a subject for a school report. I have never forgotten the story of her bravery.
Along with 5 others, Sophie was executed for distributing Anti Nazi Leaflets.
She was 21 when she died.
This has always stuck with me. Sophie, her brother and cohort were not violent, they believed that their neighbors were at threat from the government.
They spoke out and were murdered for it.
What have I done to speak out for my neighbors and myself?
I am using art to excite you about creating a ruckus.
I invoke
The Society of Sophie’s

Are you a Sophie, courageous enough to do one small thing to create change.
I invite you to try.

Lack of oversight on ICE
“Hello. My name is [Your Name], and I am a constituent from [City/ZIP]. I’m calling to demand that Representative [Name] vote no on any further funding or expansion of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Continued funding of ICE, absent meaningful accountability, represents a direct erosion of democratic norms. We are watching the normalization of unaccountable force, mass detention without due process, and executive overreach—all funded by Congress. That is not public safety. That is the steady dismantling of constitutional governance.
Democracies do not survive when agencies operate above the law, shielded by unlimited budgets and political protection. Congress has both the power and the obligation to stop this. A vote for more ICE funding is a vote for secrecy, coercion, and the weakening of civilian oversight.
I want a clear answer on the record: Will the Representative vote no on any future ICE funding? I expect a written response stating their position. Thank you.”

Why mailed letters are powerful:
Authenticity & Trust: A handwritten letter signals personal care, making it stand out and build trust, unlike generic digital messages.
Constituent Connection: Legislators prioritize mail from constituents (verified by address) as it directly impacts their representation.
Tangible & Memorable: Physical mail is tangible, can be revisited, and is seen as a thoughtful gesture that cuts through digital clutter.
Letter to Republican Representatives:
To the Republican Members of Congress,
We are 17 days after the murder of Renee Goode and 4 days after the murder of Alex Pretti. These deaths occurred under federal authority, during immigration enforcement actions you continue to defend or refuse to oversee. When will the Republican Party stand up to its dictator? When will you acknowledge that what you call loyalty is submission—and that your silence makes you complicit in the destruction of this country?
Instead of governing, you distract. Instead of oversight, you obfuscate. While the nation is deliberately diverted, you ignore:
The abduction of a Venezuelan political leader, carried out without transparency or accountability.
The continued suppression of the Epstein files, protecting powerful individuals while denying the public the truth.
A mounting body count in ICE custody, where people continue to die under federal control without consequence.
Those deaths are not isolated incidents. They are the predictable outcome of a system you fund, defend, and shield from scrutiny. At what point do you confront your role in enabling abuse, lawlessness, and the protection of pedophiles? History does not excuse those who “followed orders” or hid behind party loyalty. It records them as collaborators. How much more damage must be done before you wake up?
Provide a clear and unambiguous statement of your position: do you support independent oversight of ICE, accountability for deaths in federal custody, the release of the Epstein files, and resistance to authoritarian control—or do you continue to endorse silence, obstruction, and complicity?
Letter to Representatives About Protecting Due Process

The Honorable [Representative/Senator Name]

Dear [Representative/Senator] [Last Name],
I am writing as a constituent deeply concerned about recent actions and proposals that threaten the fundamental principle of due process in our legal and governmental systems. Due process is not a partisan matter—it is a cornerstone of the Constitution and a safeguard that protects every person from unchecked governmental power.
Any erosion of due process, whether through policies that bypass judicial review, limit access to legal representation, encourage punitive actions without evidence, or undermine the independence of the courts, poses a serious risk to our democracy and individual liberties.
I am urging you to:
Oppose any legislation or executive actions that weaken due process protections,
Support strong oversight and transparency measures to prevent abuses of authority,
Publicly affirm your commitment to the constitutional rights guaranteed under the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments.
In moments of national tension or political pressure, our institutions and elected officials must demonstrate unwavering commitment to the rule of law. Protecting due process protects all of us—regardless of political affiliation—and preserves the integrity of our democratic system.
Thank you for your time and for your service to our state. I look forward to your response and to seeing you advocate for the constitutional principles that keep our country free and fair.
Sincerely,

Urgent Letter to Representatives on the Erosion of Due Process

The Honorable [Representative/Senator Name]
[Office Address]
[City, State ZIP]
Dear [Representative/Senator] [Last Name],
I am writing with urgent concern about the accelerating erosion of due process protections in our government. Fundamental constitutional rights—protections that prevent abuses of power—are being weakened in ways that should alarm every American, regardless of political affiliation.
When due process is bypassed or minimized, the government gains the ability to act without accountability, without evidence, and without meaningful checks from the courts. These are not abstract issues; they strike at the heart of the rule of law and threaten the safeguards that protect all of us from arbitrary or retaliatory actions by the state.
I am calling on you to take immediate and visible action:
Oppose any policy, legislation, or executive action that undermines judicial oversight or weakens constitutional protections,
Demand transparency and accountability whenever due process is restricted or circumvented,
Publicly affirm that no administration—now or in the future—should be allowed to erode the rights guaranteed by the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments,
Use every oversight tool available to ensure government power remains subject to law, not political will.
Moments like this define whether our institutions remain strong or whether they begin to normalize extraordinary and dangerous shortcuts. History has shown repeatedly that when due process falters, the consequences for civil liberties and democratic stability are profound and long-lasting.
I urge you to act decisively. The protection of due process cannot wait.
Thank you for your attention to this critical matter. I look forward to seeing strong leadership and meaningful action to defend the constitutional principles that uphold our democracy.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]

Letter Denouncing the removal of Accessibility in Government
Dear Representative [Last Name],
I am writing as a constituent to express grave concern over the accelerating erosion of accessibility accommodations for people with learning challenges and disabilities under the current Administration. These accommodations are not cosmetic preferences; they are civil rights protections that enable equitable access to information, civic participation, and government services. When accessibility is weakened or dismissed, it signals a retreat from inclusion and a disregard for the Americans whose participation depends on these supports.
Recent actions underscore this troubling pattern. Reported changes such as the removal of accessible font standards in official communications associated with Secretary Marco Rubio, and the absence of sign language interpreters at federal press conferences, directly undermine access for individuals with dyslexia, low vision, and the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community. These are not neutral administrative decisions; they functionally exclude people from understanding and engaging with government communications in real time. The impact is immediate and harmful, particularly for students, educators, and families who rely on consistent, accessible formats to navigate public life.
These actions are egregious and reflect a hostile posture toward disability rights by the current Administration. I urge you to publicly denounce these practices, demand the restoration and strengthening of accessibility standards across all federal communications, and exercise rigorous oversight to ensure compliance with the ADA and related laws. Accessibility is a legal obligation and a moral imperative. Silence or inaction in the face of these rollbacks is not acceptable. I expect your leadership on this issue and a clear commitment to protecting the rights of disabled Americans.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
